lemony thicket.

lemon yard

spent the day picking lemons and pruning back the lone lemon tree in my friend cyrano's backyard. we picked over 500 lemons--something like 8 milk crates of citrus.

lemon chair

i'm trying to work up the energy to start sqveezing these suckers, or maybe stocking up on some grain alcohol to make the first batch of limoncello, or perhaps get a gross of eggs to make a gigantor batch of lemon curd.

lemon cart

anybody want some? i'll throw in a batch of some of the homemade lemon goodies.

*siiiiigh* summer is definitely here. I hate the heat, and summer is not my favorite season. BUT! Beeyootiful lemons and delicious lemonade and other tangy treats make summer bearable. (makes note to run to Whole Foods and see if the lemons are good enough to buy). The pics are gorgeous. I bet it smells like lemony heaven on the porch.

anthony, already in the works. well, almost. i bought the jars and the kosher salt, now for the herbs.

can i tell you how much i HATE that i can't find all the ingredients i need in one store here? because i just did.

I'd LOVE to know how to do the preserved lemon thingy too! If you need an extra car trunk to transport...

Did you read Nigella's recipe for preserved lemons with the freezer technique to speed thongs up?

I meant things, not thongs.

Santos,

I see you're having a wonderfully lemony time in L.A. Fabulous! Giada made limoncello the other day and it looked delicious in a sort of yum-oh way. Forgive the Rachaelism, I couldn't resist.

sarah! lemons for you, surely.

acme and green kitchen, i've used jamie oliver's recipe in the past, and am now perusing nigella's, martha's, and others. don't know which one i'll go with quite yet, but you'll be the first to know :)

bowb, that sounds deeeeelicious, i'll have to make one myself (but maybe not 166).
