a few persimmons in my favourite chair. my aunt and uncle brought them from their backyard trees in tulare.

Wow, I haven't seen anything Merle Haggard related in ages, lol. A friend who sings in a country band introduced me to Haggard's music a couple of years ago and normally I can't stand country stuff but he's not too bad. The only songs I remember are Pancho and Lefty, Misery and Gin, and I wish a buck was still silver.
I liked Pancho and Lefty.
I've never tried baking with persimmons because they always get eaten before I can even think about it. Your recipe sounds really good though so next time they're in season here, I'll have to give it a try.

yep, i'm a closet country fan. older stuff, mostly, none of this country-pop nonsense. if i lived in la all the time, i'd probably listen to more.

i think this album was my introduction to merle haggard, via the dwight yoakam track. pancho and lefty, haven't heard that in awhile. gotta dust off the record collection to find it :-)
